Frequently Asked Questions
How does online therapy work?
Online therapy is not that different from in-person therapy – it is a more convenient way for people to access the same level of support. All my sessions are delivered online through HIPAA-compliant software, so you can feel fully confident that your sessions are confidential and secure.
What are CBT and BSFT?
CBT stands for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and BSFT stands for Brief Solution-Focused Therapy. I use both of these approaches in my work with clients, and both approaches are based on equipping you with the skills and coping mechanisms that will empower you to focus positively on your future.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
Seeking out therapy is an individual choice. There are many reasons why people come to therapy. Sometimes it is to deal with long-standing psychological issues such as anxiety or depression. In other cases, it is in response to unexpected life changes such as death, divorce, work, or academic stress. Many seek the collaboration of a therapist as they pursue their own personal exploration and growth.
Regardless of the challenges that you might face, talking with a therapist can provide insight, support, and new strategies for all life’s challenges. Therapy can empower you to overcome many issues, including depression, anxiety, conflict, grief, stress management, body-image, and general life transitions.
Therapy is right for anyone who is interested in getting the most out of their life by taking responsibility, creating greater self-awareness, and working towards change.
If you still aren’t certain that therapy will be beneficial to you, I encourage you to schedule a time to speak with me. I’m happy to discuss any additional questions or concerns.
